Karl J. Eggerss, President & CEO of Eggerss Capital Management, first became aware of the stock market when his father purchased a few shares of Church's Fried Chicken stock for him in the mid 1970's. The stock was also purchased for his 2 siblings who eventually sold their stock and took the cash. At the age of 14, Karl sold his stock as well, but decided to take his proceeds and reinvest. He had a passion for baseball cards at the time. This is where he first learned the art of trading. This led Karl to purchase stock in Topps, a leading baseball card distributor. Over the next few years, Karl doubled his money and he was hooked.
Always fascinated with numbers, he earned his finance degree from Southwest Texas State University in 1995 with a specialization in Financial Planning. Upon graduation in 1995, he immediately went to work for Fidelity Investments in Dallas, Texas as a mutual fund trader. In just a few months, Karl’s job expanded to cover all 50 states and he was awarded duties of helping out the sales team at Fidelity. Karl enjoyed the work, but he had a passion to work for a growing company and more importantly, to meet with clients on an individual basis.
In 1996, his opportunity came, and he was offered a position as a financial advisor with a money management firm in San Antonio, Texas. At the time, the company was managing approximately $20 million in assets. But there was a need for a more sophisticated system to manage the growing clients. Karl was placed in charge of establishing the company’s financial management database.
Karl’s position evolved and he became the Chief Trader for the company, in charge of trading millions of dollars every day. This position landed him his own daily radio show on a national radio network airing in cities such as Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Colorado Springs, & Denver. With the growing popularity of the program, Karl was invited by various financial news networks for his commentary on the markets. Some of the networks he has appeared on include CNBC, CNBC Asia, Bloomberg, Fox Business, & Reuters. Karl is often asked to make appearances to discuss the techniques that have made him successful.
In 2010, Karl established Eggerss Capital Management, his own registered investment advisory firm dedicated to providing clients with superior financial counsel in the changing economy. His market insight and cutting edge strategies help fulfill the mission of Eggerss Capital to help clients be protected and profitable in the face of rapid market change.
Other major successes in Karl’s life include his family. He met his wife Amy in college and they were married in 1997. With their 2 children, Anson and Avery, Karl and Amy Eggerss currently reside in Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas.
